Very rewarding workshop on Actuarial Engineering. Actuarial issues were analyzed taking into account a rigorous but practical point of view. Therefore, it is easy to put into practise in our daily work most of the techniques applied during the workshop. Frank is a very good teacher and handouts are very useful.

It's amazing how Frank manages multiple complex topics by teaching the essentials of reinsurance pricing and developing tools in Excel that let us understand where to focus in the different stages of structuring a reinsurance treaty. I liked how the workshop covered diverse subjects, such as reinsurance pricing for different treaties including theory and exercises which help us to understand how to deal with real data. It was very interesting the way dependencies were integrated in the model using Copulas and the review of individual claims development.

This workshop was a helpful introduction to some of the risks being considered under Solvency II regulations. Modelling these risks on excel, helped understand the theory much better. The most interesting topic for me in the workshop was the interest rate models and validation checks on models. The diverse background of the attendees and the interesting speakers made this workshop a great learning experience.

Modelling Dependencies
“Modelling Dependencies” workshop was extremely interesting and useful. I liked very much the structure of the training, including the way Frank and Pedro covered all topics from mathematical background, through some intuitive explanations to the practical Excel models. From the very beginning, one could feel how passionate the lecturers were about the presented topics. The presentations and Excel models were provided to all participants, which is a very big plus, as one can go deeper into presented topics (and models) after the workshop. I would definitely recommend the “Modelling Dependencies” workshop because of its content, the lecturers and a great atmosphere that everyone could feel during these three days.
