Last year, the Swiss Ministry of Energy commissioned Prime Re Solutions to calculate a new insurance tariff for Swiss nuclear facilities. We are proud to announce that a dedicated Government & Industry Committee has now unanimously endorsed our tariff and conclusions, which are summarised in our report: https://pubdb.bfe.admin.ch/de/publication/download/12549

The Ministry of Energy initially commissioned Prime Re Solutions in 2024 to assess the model in force, the premiums of which were unexpected and difficult to justify. Following the completion of this review, which confirmed the previous model’s weaknesses and flaws, the Ministry tasked us with developing a new model that complies with actuarial principles for calculating the federal premium. This new model is now based on an Extreme Value Theory (EVT) approach driven by expert scenarios.
